Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

Author Guidelines

  • English Didactic is an internationally recognized double-blind peer-reviewed electronic journal.
  • Manuscripts must align with the mission and purpose of English Didactic
  • Authors must adhere to the guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th Ed).
  • Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) and must be 1 spaced using a 12-point font in Times New Roman; employ italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. The paper size is A4 (i.e., 210 x 297 mm), two-column format (i.e., 85 mm each) with a 2.5 cm margin at the top, a 2.5 cm margin at the bottom, 2.5 cm margin on the left, and 2 cm margin on the right. Lines are one-spaced, justified. Page numbers should be included in the text located in the footer section of each page. Use of pronouns such as I, we etc. is to be at best avoided.
  • Recommended manuscript length is 5000 to 6000 words, including references.
  • Include an abstract of 150-200 words.
  • Include a title page with author/s contact information. If the manuscript has more than one author, please indicate which author is acting as the contact person.
  • Include a statement indicating that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-SA 4.0) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
