Abstract

Anemia is one of the health problems that is an indirect cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Anemia is a condition where the body experiences a lack of Haemoglobin (Hb) which causes a decrease in the blood's ability to carry oxygen (O2). Anemia during pregnancy occurs when the hemoglobin (Hb) level of pregnant women is <11 g/dL in the first and third trimester or the Hb level is <10.5 g/dL in the second trimester. The symptoms are weak, tired, lethargic, tired, and sluggish. Often, pregnant women who experience anemia will have a pale-looking face, eyelids, tongue, and lips as well as foggy eyes. The impact of anemia in pregnancy is miscarriage/abortion, bleeding during pregnancy which can cause maternal death, premature labor, fetal distress, problems during labor and the postpartum period including low birth weight babies and stunting (PB <48 cm). Meanwhile, if the mother has severe anemia, it can cause the risk of death in the baby. The provision of 60 mg/day Blood Add tablets is a government program to overcome anemia in adolescents. The program at 20.00 WIB pregnant women simultaneously consume iron tablets (DUTA BESI) is an innovation of lecturers and students of La Tansa Mashiro University to encourage compliance of pregnant women to consume iron tablets.
