Abstract

The advancement of digital technology demands public service systems, including the entertainment industry, to provide fast, efficient, and real-time responsive services. One of the main challenges in digital cinema ticketing systems is the simultaneous processing of ticket ordering and validation with low latency. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of two primary communication protocols, HTTP and WebSocket, in managing real-time digital ticket booking and validation. Through an experimental approach using system simulations, performance parameters such as latency, throughput, bandwidth efficiency, and scalability were tested. The results indicate that WebSocket significantly outperforms HTTP, especially in high-traffic environments requiring rapid response. These findings recommend the adoption of WebSocket as the primary communication protocol in digital cinema ticketing systems that require efficient and persistent bidirectional interactions
