HUBUNGAN ANTARA SELF- CONFIDENCE TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract

The lack of self-confidence and low ability to understand mhatematical concepts among class VIII students at Nurul Madany middle school are the background for this research. One of the factors that influences students ability to understand mhatematical concepts is self-confidence. This research aims to determine the relationship between students self-confidence and the ability to understand mhatematical concepts in class VIII  of Nurul Madany middle school Cipanas Lebak regency. Data collection was carried out using instruments in the form of a self-confidence questionnaire with a likert scale model and a test of understanding mhatematical concepts in the form of an essay. The result of this research show that there is a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence and the ability to understanding of mhatematical concepts in class VIII of Nurul Madany middle school with a calculated r value or product moment of 0.607 > 0.254 with a significance value of 0.05, which means the higher the value. students' self-confidence, the higher the understanding of mathematical concepts of class VIII students at Nurul Madany middle School vice verca. The coefficient of determination for self-confidence and understanding of mathematical concepts is 36,84% and the remaining 63,16% is influenced by other factor.
