Abstract

The purposes of this research to identify the existence of mammals in Tahura Banten. This research method uses direct encounters with ventilation techniques (concentration count) and indirect encounters that can be identified through signs left behind in the form of nests, feces, footprints (foot prints), puddles, food scraps, body rubbing marks or paddling fangs and scratch marks and signs of the presence of other mammals. The results of the study showed that mammals found through direct encounters with computational techniques (concentration counts) include Javan langurs (Trachypithecus auratus), long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis), squirrels (Fam; Tupaiidae), coconut squirrels (Callosciurus notatus), sunda lemurs (Galeopterus variegatus), and bats (Ordo; Chiroptera). Furthermore, the results of indirect observations in the form of sounds and food scraps and bite marks from long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis), feces identified as coming from weasel (Paradoxurus hermaphrodites), and javan langurs (Trachypithecus auratus). Through this study, it was revealed that the presence of mammals found in Tahura Banten is closely related to the habitat as a place of shelter and food source. This study is expected to be an additional reference, especially studies on the presence of mammals in Tahura Banten, so that it can be used as a reference for further research.
