Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the productivity of hydroponic green lettuce plants in the Sandi Buana Farm greenhouse in Mangunsari Village, Semarang City, through the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring and control system. The main problem faced by partners was the suboptimal management of environmental parameters due to inefficient and non-real-time manual monitoring processes. In this activity, a SIPONIK application-based system was developed and implemented, integrated with temperature, pH, TDS, and ultrasonic sensors, controlled by ESP32 and ESP8266 microcontrollers. The implementation results demonstrated improved monitoring efficiency, accelerated response to environmental changes, and increased yields from 2.5 kg to 3.2 kg per day. Furthermore, this activity encouraged increased digital literacy among farmers and the emergence of independent technology development initiatives. With an educational and participatory approach, this activity successfully delivered significant technical and social impacts in supporting modern, efficient, and sustainable hydroponic farming.
